Hubbard expedition blog site
« on: April 23, 2012, 07:09:23 PM »
For anyone interested in the 1903 ill-fated expedition into interior Labrador, there is a guy who has retraced the journey of the Hubbard party several times (solo) and created an extensive blog. This guy is pretty incredible when you consider the distances traveled and the fact that it is through the roughest, most remote wilderness you can imagine. Plus, he looks to be in his 60's. Hope you enjoy:

Thanks for posting this. Lure of the Labrador Wild is one of my all time favorite books.  I want to go explore labrador so bad.  I think that this guy's adventures in Labrador are far more epic than climbing something like everest could ever be these days.
“Hey, is anyone up for a really stupid adventure? I sorta have an idea where we’re going, but really don’t know if we’ll get there or how this will work out. You have a headlamp right?”

This is cool I am going to take a good long look through this. Thanks. Have you seen this guy named Ueli Steck, "the swiss machine" he is setting time records all over the place. North face of the Eiger in 2hr.40min.or so. Its cool too.
